$100,000 college debt

I was reading this article about people borrowing money to attend colleges.

Would you take out $100,000 in loans to go to a college? I would borrow some money but not that much. I would buy a house with that kind of money. But it is the only way for some people to get a good education.

"From 1993 to 2004, the median federal loan for new graduates jumped 63 percent to more than $16,000. One in 10 students at private college owe more than $40,000. And that's not even counting how much Mom and Dad borrow to help pay the bills."

The tuition cost is getting higher every year and I think more people are getting
burned. You get a certificate after 4 year but doesn't mean you will find a high
paying jobs and you will still need to pay the loan back.

Free credit report

Why you should obtain your credit report ? There are many reasons for that.Fighting dentity theft, getting a job, getting a loan, renting an apartment, to see if there any mistakes that may have occured and many more reasons.

Under federal law, you’re entitled to a free report if a company takes adverse action against you such as denying your application for credit, insurance, or employment and you ask for your report within 60 days of receiving notice of the action. The notice will give you the name, address, and phone number of the consumer reporting company. You’re also entitled to one free report a year if you’re unemployed and plan to look for a job within 60 days; if you’re on welfare; or if your report is inaccurate because of fraud, including identity theft.

To get a credit report, usually you have to pay a fee to the credit reporting companies. But you are entitled to receive one free credit file disclosure every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies – Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. This free credit file can be requested through this website, by phone or by mail.

The following are the three major credit reporting agencies:

Equifax: www.equifax.com
Experian: www.experian.com
TransUnion: www.transunion.com

You can get a free report from the three agencies all here at:

https://www.annualcreditreport.com

AnnualCreditReport.com is a centralized service for consumers to request annual credit reports. It is the only service authorized by Equifax, Experian and TransUnion for free credit
disclosure purposes.

People should be wary of companies that make claims regarding credit repair. Don't give out your personal information over the phone or the internet. If you think you are a victim of a identiy theft. You can request a fraud alert be placed on your file. An initial fraud alert stays in your file for at least 90 days. An extended alert stays in your file for seven years.

Don't place fraud alert if is not necessary, beaucause it will be harder for you to
obtain a credit.

4 myths about home prices

If you think the housing prices will keep on rising, think again ! Shawn Tully, editor from Fortune will tell some myths about the future of home prices.

"
1: As long as job growth is strong, prices can't go down

2: The builders learned their lesson in the last downturn. They won't swamp the market with new houses when the market turns

3: Low interest rates will keep values rising, or at the very least, put a floor under prices

4: restriction on development in the suburbs ensures low supply, and guarantees rising prices"

Which side do you believe ? It's up to you.

has the housing bubble burst

I don't know the answer but if you know what you are doing you can always in the real estate market whether it is booming or not. It is certain to me the housing boom has peaked since the interest rate has risen from the historic lows. Fewer people would be able to afford the mortgage when interest rate rise higher.

Easy money has been made in the real estate but some still has not cash in which put them in a dangerous situation. As more house put the for sale sign the price appreciation would be slow if not decrease. You make money in real estate when you buy as some people say but it all depends. So, take the profits while you can.

Religion-Related fraud on the rise

More people are getting ripped off by the religion related frauds becasue more con artists are coming to religion organizations to scam people.

The dollar amount involved is getting larger; some $2 billion dollars were lost from 1998-2001 due to fraudulant activities and the number is on the rise. The number of cases are more common nowadays.

More scammers are taking advantage of the trust of the religious community members. Promising high return and trying eliminate the guilt of greed by promising to donate back some of the profits back for a good cause. Often the pastors are targeted first, since they have more influence and power. Then the members come next.

If you think it is safe to do business with your religious organization, think again. Nothing is 100% safe.Don't give out cash without any record. Do some research on the parties you are dealing with. And don't be greed.

Surprising Six-Figure Jobs

Want to make six figures? You're probably thinking you've got to work on Wall Street, a law firm or have gone through years of medical school to earn that kind of a salary. There are many jobs that pay well. But you might never thought the following jobs would pay you six-figures.

1. Court Reporter
Special skills are always in demand. If you can type 200 or so words a minute, a six-figure job transcribing court testimony or captioning Web casts can be had in some areas.

2. Professional Coach
Thought the 90s were over? Nope, the Oprah era lives on. Those seeking a cheerleader to help them through life's problems will shell out big bucks to have a shoulder to lean on. About 20% of the 10,000 coaches make six figures, according to industry estimates.

3.Mine Manager
Claustrophobia aside, a profession with a median salary of $106,000 a year awaits those with the project management skills to set budgets and deadlines for mining projects, plus review and enforce safety procedures. A college degree is not always necessary.

4. Sales person
Sales is accurately described as the world's easiest high paying job for some, and the toughest low paying job for others. If you have a way with people and can handle rejection, it doesn't matter if you're selling stocks, life insurance, cars or magazine subscriptions. You'll make big bucks.

5. Truck Driver
Wages vary depending on location and seniority, but long haul truckers willing to hit the road for weeks at a time can pull in $100,000 or more a year, plus benefits.

6. Pressman
Otherwise known as printing machine operators, those who keep the presses going for newspapers, magazines and books make as much as $32 an hour in some areas, which can yield six figures annually with overtime. The rise of the Web, however, means fewer of these jobs are available

7. Tech Writer
While Silicon Valley isn't quite what it used to be, some $50 an hour freelance tech writing jobs can still be had. For those who understand high-tech issues, with the ability to write about them in way that makes them understandable to the masses, this job could be for you.

8. Restaurant Manager
Working your way up to manager from the kitchen or wait staff can earn you $100,000 or more, according to Monster.com. This is usually reserved for higher end establishments and resorts.

9. Air Traffic Controller
A high stress job with a daunting training program that chops many new hires out before they ever get started. But openings will be aplenty as much of the current crop retires over the next five years. Many pay close to $100,000 to start.

10. Elementary School Principal
The national median is $76,000 a year, but those school principals in higher income areas with large enrollments break the six figure barrier.
